Undergraduate Internship Programs (PEY and eSIP)
The Engineering Career Centre (ECC) offers two internship programs that are specially designed to help undergraduate U of T Engineering students develop the skills and experience they need for the workplace. The Professional Experience Year (PEY) Internship and the Engineering Summer (eSIP) Internship are each equipped with a range of opportunities and benefits that can be tailored to each student’s career pathway.
Registration for the Professional Experience Year Internship Program (PEY) and the Engineering Summer Internship Program (eSIP) is open from September 9 – 19, 2016. Prior to registration, students are encouraged to attend one of our scheduled Information Sessions.
Eligible students may register online through the engineering portal.
A second registration period will open from January 6-12, 2017 for students that were not able to register in the fall. Students that already registered in September do not need to register again.
Professional Experience Year (PEY) Internship Program
As the largest undergraduate paid internship program in Canada, the Professional Experience Year (PEY) Internship Program provides 2nd and 3rd year students with 12-16 month work placements. Through PEY, our students can apply their knowledge in a project-based professional environment and gain experience that is vital to their ongoing career development. Please review the PEY program information.
Engineering Summer Internship (eSIP) Program
Now in its eleventh year, the Engineering Summer Internship Program (eSIP) is a paid four-month summer introductory-level internship program. Available to second or third year U of T Engineering undergraduate students, eSIP is an introduction to workplace concepts and tools that prepares students for future, more intensive opportunities like the Professional Experience Year (PEY) Internship.
