Stopping Arsenic Poisoning
Technology for a Fundamental Human Right: Safe Drinking Water
Toxic levels of arsenic in drinking water poisons about 200 million people in the world — almost all in rural and low-income communities. This lecture will summarize a 15 year trajectory from an idea, to invention, to technology, its scale up and full scale demonstration, to further technology advances. Key lessons learned, generalizable to addressing similar problems, will be presented and discussed.

Civil and Environmental Engineering, UC Berkeley,
Andrew and Virginia Rudd Family Foundation Chair Professor of Safe Water and Sanitation
